For many months now, I have postponed writing an actual and complete book proposal. Instead, I write the book. I want to send word to publishers of the books existence. Yet instead of putting together the proposal, I write another chapter. Well, now I'm near completion... actually I have one and a half chapters left to write, but still I'm closer than ever before and it's about time I started... not the writing of another chapter but the writing of the proposal.
After all: No proposal, no book.
I'm fed up with myself and my fear of rejection. Today, I say: "Let them reject!" At least if I send them a proposal, they'll have something to reject. They will also have something to accept and they may even find out about a great book that they may want to publish.
So I shifted writing gears today... and I'm happy to announce that I have written about 7 pages of proposal material! Some more writing, some more market research, some more editing, and I might just end up with something I'll be proud to send out.

I have another link somewhere to blog of a guy whose job it is to go through proposals, if you're interested.
